Industrial
The construction costs associated with industrial projects are remarkably uniform across Europe. Many of the structures are based on ‘the large shed’. In its simplest form, storage warehouses are typified by the basic slab and an enclosed, secure space model. From this starting point increased specifications add to the costs. Levels of insulation, chilled & frozen storage, loading ramps and docks , controlled access and automation in handling, storing and processing goods and products increasing the specification and costs. There has been a trend to increase the size of distribution and processing warehouses in some sectors to absolutely massive projects throughout Europe and now such centres may service several countries from one location. The constructions in this sectors includes another growth category, that of datacenters and allied constructions. Energy intensive and with very expensive installations and innovative designs makes for an area where expertise at the highest level is truly international. Cross border experience and understanding enables the Alliance members to call on shared pan-Europe experience and methodology, often for a common client.
